Hi, my name is Scott Terry. I hold a Doctorate, so Dr. Terry is fine if you prefer, but most people just call me Scott. That choice is intentional. I believe therapy works best when it feels human, approachable, and grounded in real conversation. Less formality tends to create more honesty, and honesty is where meaningful change usually starts.

My approach is flexible and collaborative. Therapy should fit into your life, not interrupt it or feel like another obligation. I focus on creating a space where we can talk openly and directly, without unnecessary layers, so progress feels natural and personal rather than forced or clinical.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I have also worked as a hypnotherapist, educator, consultant, and artist. I have been in practice since 2000 and have worked with individuals, couples, families, and organizations across a wide range of concerns. Over the years, I have also provided counseling and consultation services to businesses of all sizes.

My education includes two master’s degrees and a doctorate, with advanced doctoral and post doctoral coursework across counseling, psychology, education, special education, and the arts. I bring this broad background into my work, along with a strong foundation in business and organizational systems. That blend has been especially helpful when working with professionals, leaders, and people navigating complex life roles.

Before focusing fully on therapy and consultation, I was deeply involved in business development and creative work. I helped launch and expand companies, supported organizational change, and produced documentary projects. I have always been drawn to how people see the world and how shifting perspective can unlock growth, clarity, and momentum. Honestly, that curiosity still drives much of my work today.

I have also spent many years supervising, training, and mentoring therapists from different disciplines, both in clinical settings and academic environments. Teaching and consultation have allowed me to work closely with professionals across mental health and medical fields, which continues to shape how I think about care, collaboration, and outcomes.

Credentials and experience matter, but they are not the heart of the work. The real question is who you want to become now, and what needs to change for that to happen. My role is to help you clarify that vision and support you as you move toward it, in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

I look forward to working together and building something meaningful.
