Elizabeth Kelly NP graduated from Illinois State University in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. As a registered nurse worked in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department at Northwestern Memorial in Chicago for 10 years. A passion for caring for vulnerable populations lead her to move abroad to work with the international aid organization Doctors Without Borders where she lived and worked in Ethiopia and Malawi.

Elizabeth obtained a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012 and is a Board Certified Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. For the past 13 years Elizabeth has been a nurse practitioner at Sinai Chicago seeing patients in surrounding nursing homes managing patients with a broad and complex need of subacute rehabilitation, primary care, psychiatric and substance use disorders care.

The patient population Elizabeth serves at Sinai Chicago is often marginalized and lacking access to quality and affordable health care. Over the past 13 years she observed a particular deficit in access to mental health and substance use disorder care. The adult-geriatric population continues to struggle with unmanaged dementia, major depressive disorder, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and substance use disorder. It has become Elizabeth’s focus and passion to help fill in those gaps in care.

Elizabeth partnered with Ardent Counseling Center in Oak Brook in August 2022 and in July 2025 founded Stay In Your Cortex LLC. By partnering with Ardent, patients have access to a streamline referral process for a variety of interdisciplinary treatments including TEMPUS genetic testing, psychotherapy, Spravato, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), routine laboratory tests through Quest Diagnostics and menopausal hormone replacement.
